Family fights for mental health justice

When Chad Buckle killed himself, his parents believed he was under the secure care of Ward 27 at Wellington Hospital. However, Chad - who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia - walked out of the ward to his death. Chad's death was not the first for Ward 27 - just this week the desperate parents of a patient there wrote to the head of mental health in Wellington saying they had lost confidence in Ward 27's ability to provide effective treatment in a secure environment.
